Additional Notes: Typical to the region, details on this gem have been difficult to unearth. As the name indicates, this coffee is hand-sorted 3 distinct times to remove any defective beans. The result is an incredibly clean Sumatran coffee with sturdy body, fresh earth and bell pepper on the nose and in the cup, and a clean crisp sweetness.
A quote from the manager of the mill: "The coffee is coming from the highland Lintongnihuta but the trade name by buyers is shortened to "Lintong." Lintongnihuta is the name of the district of North Tapanuli, a part of the Sumatra province and is located about 300km from the capital city of Medan. Annual production of approximately 3,000-3,500 tons & the farmers here only use natural compost from coffee pulp as fertilizer."
