Federacion Campesina de Cauca is a non-for-profit, member owned federation of coffee growers in the Cauca region of Colombia. What began in 1971 as a congress of farmers has since become a full cooperative that includes over 630 farmers from 6 local areas. In 2004 FCC was certified Fair Trade, thus allowing them to be paid higher wages for their work. The cooperative has given micro-loans to many of the farmers, which in turn has given them access to equipment and technology to improve their farms. This particular coffee is refered to as the Regional Popayan, which is one of several cooperative blends generated by Federacion Campesina.
