Ibonia Estate stands out as one of the rare large single farms in Kenya, spanning 105 hectares (260 acres) of fertile land. Unlike the typical Kenyan coffee farm, which is often just a backyard plot with around 300 coffee trees intercropped with sustenance crops, Ibonia Estate is a significant operation located about 3 kilometers south of Kiambu Village at an elevation of approximately 1,700 meters above sea level.
With an annual production of 180 tons of coffee, Ibonia Estate has the capacity to manage the entire process in-house, from cultivation and harvesting to processing and export. This self-sufficiency ensures meticulous quality control, delivering a consistently exceptional coffee experience.
The estate predominantly cultivates SL28 and SL34, two of Kenya's most renowned coffee varieties. A strong commitment to soil health enhances the rich, complex flavors these varieties are celebrated for.
This coffee embodies our mission to partner with farms and mills that prioritize both quality and sustainability. By offering premium prices for their dedication, we support the long-term viability of their efforts. After all, the only truly sustainable coffee is good coffee.
