Wilton Benitez has been an impactful person in the specialty coffee world, captivating palates and pushing boundaries with his groundbreaking approaches. Formerly a chemical engineer, Wilton now pours his expertise into coffee farming, where he has pioneered revolutionary fermentation and processing techniques that elevate coffee flavors to an art form.

At his farm, Finca Macarena, Wilton cultivates sought-after varieties like Pink Bourbon and Geisha, employing advanced, self-designed drip irrigation systems to deliver precise watering and nutrients to each coffee tree. This particular lot is a rare Sudan Rume, a treasured heirloom variety renowned for its rich, intricate profile—flavors of jasmine, rose, berry, and plum blossom.

Utopian was founded more than a decade ago by two cousins: one a craft coffee aficionado and the other, a backpacking vagabond who fell in love with coffee-producing countries, cultures, and people.
