Impact Lives

With Every Purchase

One of the core principles of Utopian is giving back to the locals who grow, tend and harvest the beans we enjoy. By partnering with local organizations in the area we source our beans from, we can help ensure that the coffee we drink is truly sustainable.

By sourcing beans directly from the farmers themselves, we are able to ensure that our beans are produced and grown to exacting standards--and that the farmers themselves are able to make a living wage by selling their best beans directly to Utopian Coffee.

Women for Women International

Utopian Coffee Co. is proud to be a supporter of a project called Women For Women International, which works with socially excluded women in eight countries where war and conflict have devastated lives and communities. Women who enroll in their one-year program learn job skills and receive business training so they can earn a living. They come to understand their rights and how to fight for those rights in their homes, their communities and their nations.

Run for Congo Women

Run for Congo Women was started by a good friend, Lisa Shannon, in 2006. Hearing about the atrocities and the long-running civil war, she was determined to make a change. Brendon Maxwell, co-founder of Utopian Coffee, met Lisa while they were both traveling in India and the partnership between the two organizations was inevitable.
